Set aside a couple of days to spend at our house.

So the news came out in the last couple of days of a new Guitar Hero game. I paid no heed to this as I already knew about it (or so I thought). You see I am geared up for Guitar Hero Smash Hits
coming out on 6.16. It basically is going back and taking songs off the first 3 games and adding the drums and vocals. I got very excited to hear that the songs that got me into this game would now be available to wail on. Even more exciting to me is the Rockband Beatles game coming out on 9.9.09. Get it 9,9,9.... No you probably don't, it's a Beatles thing. Anyways that is sure to be the seed of another theme party! So I thought my plastic guitar thirst would be quenched for the remainder of the year with these well spaced games. Then today I actually paid attention to the chatter I was hearing. Evidently there are more things in store for the year! Guitar Hero 5 will be out on 9.1.09 with the likes of Santana, Johnny Cash, Tom Petty, Kings of Leon, and a lot more to be announced. Looks to be 85 new songs on this one. Then there is Band Hero, aimed at the family band, Pop 40 hits mostly. Might pass on this one, depends on the track list. Then there is the Van Halen themed game. I have never been really big on these guys, but it might be a lot of fun, No official release date yet, just sometime in the second half of the year. Wow you say! Too much right? Wrong! Then there is the Lego Rockband in the "Holiday 09" season. Way to capitalize on X-mas heart strings. Looks to be like the Band Hero thing, aimed towards kids and families. Maybe another pass, but it does combine two of my favorite things. Enough you say? No sir! This little gem popped up in the Internet today. Not on my radar currently but it might be worth a try sometime. DJ Hero. Go ahead take a guess what this is? That's right it is a rhythm game played with a turn table shaped controller! Over 100 songs from 80 artists and 80 brand-new mixes that have never been heard before. There looks to be some really big names attached to this. Well as big as a rapper can get.
